What this exam or admission route is
Admission is based on NIMCET rank followed by centralised counselling. Participating institutes, seat matrix, reservation, qualifying-degree combinations and the organising NIT may change, so the new brochure is the controlling document.
Who can apply
The latest brochure should be used to confirm the permitted bachelor’s degrees, required Mathematics or Statistics background, minimum marks or CGPA, and rules for final-year candidates. Do not assume an older BCA/B.Sc./engineering eligibility condition automatically applies in 2027.

- Computer-based national entrance test
- Mathematics has the greatest weight, followed by analytical/logical reasoning, computer awareness and English
- Counselling requires a separate online registration after rank publication

- Create an account on the official NIMCET portal
- Upload photograph, signature and academic documents in the prescribed format
- Pay the fee and download the confirmation page
- Download the admit card and later register choices for counselling
Preparation and planning
Give Mathematics the largest share of preparation time. Combine concept revision with timed practice in reasoning, computer fundamentals and English, and use official previous papers or mock material whenever released.

- Class 10 certificate for name and date of birth
- Qualifying-examination marksheets and certificate
- Recent photograph, signature and valid photo ID
- Category, EWS, PwD, domicile or experience certificate, where applicable
- Application confirmation, fee receipt, admit card and scorecard
