Most JNU UG and PG applicants must take the relevant CUET and also complete JNU’s own post-result admission registration. Taking CUET alone does not complete the JNU application.

Latest verified status: 2027 JNU prospectuses were not yet published. In 2026, JNU used CUET UG for specified UG/COP programmes and CUET PG for specified PG programmes, followed by separate JNU registration.

What this exam or admission route is

The JNU e-prospectus identifies each programme’s CUET paper code, eligibility combination and admission rules. MBA, Ph.D., foreign-national and diploma programmes may follow different procedures.

Who can apply

Check both the CUET bulletin and JNU e-prospectus. The CUET paper selected must match the JNU programme; eligibility can depend on degree subject, language studied, marks and programme-specific conditions.

Exam or selection structure

  • Stage 1: appear in the appropriate CUET paper
  • Stage 2: register on JNU’s admission portal after results
  • Stage 3: merit lists, seat blocking, document verification and fee payment

How to apply

  1. Shortlist JNU programmes before filling the CUET form
  2. Choose the correct CUET paper codes
  3. After CUET results, submit the separate JNU application
  4. Monitor programme-wise merit lists and reporting notices

Preparation and planning

Prepare for the exact CUET paper prescribed by JNU. Keep CUET scorecard, Class 10/12 certificates, degree marksheets and valid category documents ready for the separate university stage.

Documents to keep ready

  • Class 10 certificate for name and date of birth
  • Qualifying-examination marksheets and certificate
  • Recent photograph, signature and valid photo ID
  • Category, EWS, PwD, domicile or experience certificate, where applicable
  • Application confirmation, fee receipt, admit card and scorecard
