The old OPENMAT XXVII deadline article is not a reliable guide to current IGNOU MBA admission. Applicants should use the live IGNOU admission portal and current prospectus for the January or July session.

Latest verified status: The 2027 session prospectus was not available when checked. Candidates should not search for or use an OPENMAT XXVII form from 2010.

What this exam or admission route is

IGNOU periodically opens fresh admission through its Samarth portal. Programme availability, eligibility, fee, document list and any entrance requirement are stated in the session prospectus.

Who can apply

Confirm the recognised bachelor’s degree, minimum marks if specified, category rules and duration in the current prospectus. Overseas learners should use the international-student route where applicable.

Exam or selection structure

  • Read the current common prospectus
  • Register on the official admission portal
  • Select MBA and the correct regional/study centre options
  • Upload documents and pay the fee online

How to apply

  1. Use only an ignou.ac.in or Samarth portal linked by IGNOU
  2. Create a new registration for the relevant session
  3. Upload readable academic/category documents
  4. Save the control number and payment confirmation

Preparation and planning

This is an admission-process update rather than a promise of an entrance test. If IGNOU announces a test for a future session, follow only that session’s prospectus.

Documents to keep ready

  • Class 10 certificate for name and date of birth
  • Qualifying-examination marksheets and certificate
  • Recent photograph, signature and valid photo ID
  • Category, EWS, PwD, domicile or experience certificate, where applicable
  • Application confirmation, fee receipt, admit card and scorecard
